I agree with Julie, you have to become the "pack leader" cuz as of right now the dog thinks its the leader of the pack and therefor shows aggression. If you become the "pack leader", then the dog will become more relaxed. There also can be more than one "pack leader", so you should make your boyfriend also a "pack leader". First you must exercise your dog regularly, as a dog with little exercise can become aggressive to more than just your boyfriend. After your dog is excercised you need to give your dog some discipline. If you are going to be the pack leader, you need to let your dog know that he cannot come onto the couch with you, unless he shows "calm submissive behavior". Once you have seen that your dog is calm submissive, then you reward you dog with a chance to come on the couch with you. So remember in this order: "exercise, discipline, affection"

Your dog may just be being porotective over you. Mabey he sences something bad about ur bf but if he like him any other time he aint near you then he is just being protective so dont worry about him not liking ur bf but try to work with him on it so he doesnt hurt anyone (Like a small child) Good luck :)

You have to show your dog that YOU are the leader of the household. Do not allow your dog to sit on your lap, while you are on the couch. This just shows him that he is greater than everyone else. Have your boyfriend walk in and sit next to you on the couch. If your dog acts aggressively, take him out of the room and place him on the floor. Repeat this process many times. He will eventually learn that agressive behavior leads to not being allowed on the couch. Good luck! :-D
