I think I have tried everything to get my silly one year old papillon to stop licking me but he just doesn’t seem to get the picture. It seems to just like to lick…..grrrr If hes on your lap he will lick you leg and if he gets a hold of your arm or hand he will lick that too. He will even lick my pillow!?! He is a very good dog and hes very easy to train and we have training time everyday but for some reason I can’t train him not to lick….grrr I know this all kinda sounds silly but it is truly driving me and my hubby up the wall. If you have any suggestions please share but just keep in mind I’m not coating myself in tabbasco sauce.
My Dog Wets His Bed And Sleeps In It (when He Has The Whole Kitchen To Do This In). How Can I Get Him To Stop?

I have a papillon just under 2 years old. He’s been neutered. He’s recently developed the habit of wetting the bed he shares with my maltese and refusing to sleep in his own. Then he actually lays in it afterward.. I don’t keep them crated when I’m not around. I simply block off the kitchen with a baby gate and let them play there with the training pads down. When we first got him, he’d religiously use the pads, but now he’s decided to use the bed instead, and now ignores the pads. The vet had us switch him to a lower protein and lower fat dog food (called Solid Gold) which also has cranberry in it to support kidney function. They were unable to find anything serious other than slightly elevated kidney activity, but he said to take him off puppy food which we did.
Does anyone have any idea why he’s doing this and how to make him stop? Also the first bed we’ve given him he refuses to sleep in anymore and he doesn’t go near it and as far as we know has never peed in it. He only wants to sleep in Kenzie’s (our maltese) bed with or without her in it… which is the bed he’s been wetting in! I am so confused..
How Can I Stop My Dog Obsessing To Chew Some Papers? I Struggled Training Him Stopping To Chew…?

I am deaf. I worked very hard to train Lucky a right way. He mostly listened me a lot, but his temptation is chewing a lot of towel and regular papers. Every day, I put a paper or napkin on a coffee table. He quickly grab them then he run under a table which I can’t catch him by immediately. I chased and tried catching him, but he is a smart dog for moving an opposite of me then running around my apt. I struggled training him since he was a puppy. He recently turns one year old. He is Papillon. Mostly, his behavior is good. His temptation is obsessing to chew a lot of papers and towel papers. I did take a treat for encouraging him dropping a paper off… However, he is very stubborn to me. He thinks I am playing a game with him…

My Papillon is a 3 year old male and he barks at EVERYTHING! Guests coming to the door, other animals outside, other people/animals walking down our street, he looks out the windows in the living room and barks when there’s nothing there! He barks when we come home, when we leave! He barks at the SLIGHTEST little sounds! What can I do to limit him to barking once or twice or not at all when NOT NEEDED? He also jumps on everyone who comes in the door! HELP! Please, no suggestions that would harm or be considered cruel to any animal!

If A Papillon Puppy Growls When You Try To Take Something Away, How Do You Train Them To Stop?

Whatever you do don’t jump away and show fear. It will encourage more aggressive behavior.
Calmy keep your hand above the toy to block your puppy from it.
If your dog is play growling it will immediately back away from the toy.
If your dog seems to get more intense it is challenging you. (you may get bit but it’s a puppy now so it won’t hurt. If you get bit stay absolutely still and act like the biting doesn’t hurt you at all) Use a loud noise like a horn or someone behind you clapping assertively to distract your dog and snap the nasty thought from it’s mind. Calmly take the toy and when your dog is calm give it back.
Just practice constantly taking your dogs toys and food to get him used to it.
Is There A Way To Stop My Papillon From Being Possessive?

I’m afraid I’ve spoiled her…
My five-month-old female Papillon and my two-year old male Yorkie are great friends when they are playing with each other. But when my Yorkie tries to show affection to me (licking my chin, laying in my lap, ect.) my Papillon growls and bites him till he gets away. Then, she sits on my lap and prevents him from coming closer. These bites are never hard, but it’s not fair to the other dog.
When people she is not familiar with come over, she barks at them and sits by me. It can take 30mins or more for her to stop barking, unless I pick her up.
Does anyone have a method (aside from dog training classes) to get her to stop? My Yorkie can never properly have peace and lay by me if she keeps being so possessive over me.
