I Need Some Advice……?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
Okay, me and my sisters(especially me) are totally stressed out ’cause our brother who’s 12 is impossible to deal with. He has a few learning disabilities but you could never tell unless someone told you. He just learns slower then we do and he looks completely normal. Anyways, he insults us all day, yells at us, tells on us for the smallest things you could imagine, lies consistently, hardly does a dang thing all day , has to be told several times before he even thinks of doing his chores and he bullies my little papillon by teasing him, kicking him, scarying him to death and completely ruining everything I’ve trained him to do. It’s obvious he’s jealous ’cause he doesn’t get his own dog. Anyways, the point is, he’s ruining our lives. Even when I don’t even do anything to upset him my mom still grounds me or something. This happens everyday. I can’t take this any longer. Please help me!!!
Some Advice On Hoursetraining….?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
Ok so i have a 3 month old papillon and i got him when he was 8 weeks. asap i started house training him. since i work full time and he’s so little i confined him to the kitchen with his crate and potty pads. i come home for lunch and take him out. in the beginning he would only go on the potty pads and not outside. over time and lots of praise he now goes outside in the desginated spot and on the potty pads inside. i know i am confusing him on where he should eliminate but i’m trying my best with my work schedule. so now i’m wondering would it be too much for him to try to move the potty pads to my patio because it takes an elevator ride down 3 stories and a walk across the parking lot to get to his potty “spot”. it would be so much easier for him on the patio and i am crate training and other than work all my time is spent with him. anyone tried this? all together i’m going to get rid of the potty pads. should i wait or does this sound like problems in the future?

How Can I Stop My Dog Obsessing To Chew Some Papers? I Struggled Training Him Stopping To Chew…?

I am deaf. I worked very hard to train Lucky a right way. He mostly listened me a lot, but his temptation is chewing a lot of towel and regular papers. Every day, I put a paper or napkin on a coffee table. He quickly grab them then he run under a table which I can’t catch him by immediately. I chased and tried catching him, but he is a smart dog for moving an opposite of me then running around my apt. I struggled training him since he was a puppy. He recently turns one year old. He is Papillon. Mostly, his behavior is good. His temptation is obsessing to chew a lot of papers and towel papers. I did take a treat for encouraging him dropping a paper off… However, he is very stubborn to me. He thinks I am playing a game with him…
Could Someone Give Me Some Housebreaking Tips For A Papillon?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
I got my papillon puppy yesterday and so far everything’s been great. She has a wonderful temperament, is extremely intelligent and playful and is simply a perfect bundle of fur. Of course, as with all young puppies, my little Lilou needs to be housebroken. I know I’ve not had her for very long so I can’t expect too much, but I’d like to start off on the right foot (or paw, =P) so things don’t become a disaster later on.
I’m crate training her, and so far she’s been fantastic. She hasn’t soiled her bedding yet, even when I feared she wouldn’t make it through last night. However, I’m still having some small problems with the housebreaking process, especially with predicting when she needs to go.
Many books and various websites recommend to take a puppy out to the toilet /immediately/ after they’ve eaten, after they’ve woken up in their crate, after playing, after exercising, before they go to bed… etc. And the key word is /immediately/. Lilou doesn’t eliminate immediately; she doesn’t eliminate five minutes later; she doesn’t eliminate ten minutes later; she doesn’t eliminate fifteen minutes later, and all this means that taking her out immediately has no effect. I can’t predict when she will eliminate, and it’s not possible for me to hover over her twenty-four seven. She’s about ten weeks old, so does anyone know (or at least have a vague idea) how often I /should/ take her out rather than immediately after everything?
Also when I do take Lilou out, she gets distracted. Okay, sure, many puppies get distracted, but how do I fix this? She loves to play and every time I take her to the grass area where I want her to do her business, she runs off and goes to chew grass. I can’t get her to stand still and I wait for an eternity, outside, for nothing. Last night I was outside with her for a full two and a half hours until half past eleven when I gave up and put her in her crate. She eliminated this morning at six. While that was lucky, that won’t be the case during the daytime when she’s taking three meals a day with water always available.
I know I might sound to some of you that I’m expecting my puppy to be perfect, but I’m telling you right now that I’m not. I just want to know if I’m doing anything wrong so I can fix it early and therefore train my puppy better.
Any tips and suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Papillon Owners-i Am Thinking Of Getting A Papillon And Would Like Some Realistic Answers?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
Do they shed, do they bark alot, do they make good lap dogs, would they get along with a corgi? Pro’s, cons of owning a papillon. I also heard they are extremely hard to house train. Would it be okay to adopt one at 1-2 yrs old or would it be better to get a puppy? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I am making the right decision. Please feel free to add any other information you feel would be relevant. Thanks!
