Advice On Choosing A Puppy, Papillon Or Pomeranian?

Hi there everyone,
My family and I have been looking for a new puppy recently. We’ve been to view two litters, one of pomeranians and one of papillons, and we like all the pups equally so can’t decide which breed we should go for. I’ve heard that Pomeranians can be yappy and nippy which is something we wouldn’t really want. Could anybody who has experience of either of these breeds give me some information regarding their temperaments, training, grooming, and health matters? Any info would be much appreciated. We don’t have any young children in the family, we have a medium sized house and a VERY large garden, we also live directly opposite a large park. There is always at least one person in the house.

Help With Litter Box Training My Puppy?

I just got a puppy papillon a day ago and i desided to litter box train it because i heard it pays off in the long run, i’ve been watching her constantly, i have her gated off in my kitchen so she can not get anywhere else unless i let her out. she has her littler box in there along with newspapers, when i catch her in the action of going i pick her up and set her in there, but i have to hold her, she will not pee in there though, by the time i pick her up she is done, she is only 3 months old. any help? thanks

I have a papitzu (papillon shih tzu mix). He is 9 weeks old. He is a bundle of energy and loves his training sessions. I have been wanting to do agility and I also thought that it would direct his energy. I heard that it will destroy there bones if I d it to early. So what age is the very best. He already knows how to sit, stay, come here, get down, no, good puppy, and he is already fully potty trained, and he kind of knows over and around. So besides basic training what can I do and at what age. I will give best answer and as many points as I can to the best answers

Is The Same Breed Of Dog Better With Each Other And Is A 2nd Puppy A Good Idea?

I have a four month old Japanese Chin (female) and am considering getting another one. It has been difficult to find another chin that is about the same size as she will be (since she will be small around 5 lbs and some chins can get to 20 lbs). I’m wanting to get another one fairly soon, so they can get use to each other and grow up together. I’m having a hard time finding another chin, but am considering getting a papillon. I’m just concerned that a papillon might be a little more fiesty than she is. She is very laid back, likes to play, but likes to cuddle and sleep as well. She isn’t one of these puppies that bites and chews on everything. She is actually the perfect dog, already potty trained and everything.
Also, would a male or female be best to get since I have a little girl. I will get they spayed or neutered because I think they chin will be too small to have pups, plus I don’t want to breed. I’m worried that males will hike and try to ‘jump’ on my little female.

I Want To Start Showing My Papillon Puppy, But I Don’t Know Where Or How To Begin. Any Pointers?

I want to enter my 8 month old Papillon puppy in some dog shows, but I’m so confused. I have no idea on where to train her or in what areas I need to focus on for competition. I’m a true beginner, so any training tips would be awesome! I almost just want to take her to a personalized trainer who knows how to train top quality show dogs and pick her up when its over. I don’t even know what I as her handler would be expected to do. HELP!

Papillon Puppy: Male Or Female?

I’m planning on purchasing a papillon puppy at the end of this year in December as a pet. I’ve looked up everything about the breed: temperament, size, coat-colour, exercise requirements, feeding, grooming requirements, toilet training, pricing… etc. I’ve also found a wonderful breeder with puppies that are available at the perfect moment (the beginning of my end of year school holidays). They’re really informative, kind and devoted to sending their dogs to a good home.
I was originally leaning towards getting a male dog. However, the litter that was born two nights ago from the breeder consisted of three females.
I’ve heard of many cons about females, i.e. they’re less affectionate than dogs, somewhat finicky, more moody, more reserved and quiet and more dominant in some cases (wanting to be the alpha dog, fighting against other bitches… etc.). Apparently they’re also harder to toilet train as they don’t lift their leg when doing their business.
Is all of the above true, and if so, to what degree? Is it very noticable? Does it affect how you feel when living with them?
If anyone specifically has a papillon, please answer my question. I will be very grateful. =)

Getting My 6 Month Old Puppy To Walk With A Leash?

I’ve had my 6-month old Papillon for a month now, and she’s making all the right strides when it comes to potty training, socializing, etc. The one big problem I am having is with a leash – whenever I put it on her she freezes, shakes a little and looks at me like I have a monster mask on. I’d love to take her for walks and get her out and about in the world, how do I get her to see that the leash is her friend and won’t harm her?
