How Can I Get Them To Potty In The Rain?

I’m potty-training my dogs (chihuahua, papillon-poodle) and they’re doing good. My problem is when it rains they won’t get off the back porch (we let them out in our fenced back yard to potty) and go use the bathroom. They wait until we let them back in and potty in the house. How can I get them to go even when it’s raining or damp outside? And I don’t mean like drenching rain I mean just a light mist. I know they know it’s wrong but where else are they gonna go since they won’t get off the porch?

How To Potty Train My Dog?

My dog is part papillon and part poodle, she is really tiny. In the summer she goes outside and does her business. However, in the winter she gets so cold that she won’t go outside. How can I get her to go outside? How can I make it so she doesn’t go to the bathroom all over the house?

Potty Training In The House?

I tried to potty train my 5 month old papillon puppy, Sophie, outside but it has NOT worked. Mostly because I go to school 30 min away and I also do Taekwondo in that same town for the rest of the day and do not get home until like 8:00 pm, so this will not work. I now want to potty train her inside, any suggestions?
There are some rules!
-Must be inexpensive
-Easy to maintain
-Permanent (something that she can use for the rest of her life)
Please help! Thank you!!! =)

Kennel Vs. Potty Training?

My fiance and I just bought a 10wk old Papillon named Achilles.
He’s doing pretty well on kennel training (minus the fact he whines constantly at 8am… not a prob ’cause he’s a puppy)
but how can I get him to stop whining? Or am I just going to have to deal with it till he gets used to staying in his kennel till 8:30 lol.
He is also kind of confused on the puppy pad training.
He’ll poop and pee on the puppy pad… then the next time he has to go (after I’ve already changed the pad obviously) he’ll poop or pee some where in the house…
How can I get him to constantly go on the pad? And yes we do reward him every time he goes on the pad. We alternate between praise and a treat.

What Is The Best Way To Potty Train A 4 Month Old Puppy?

I am getting a 4 month old Papillon puppy and she’s not fully house broken. I am considering crate training her or keeping her in my kitchen with a baby gate and litter box training her. I know that both options have certain drawbacks. Is it possible to do both? I would be inclinded to lean towards litter box training her so that I could have her go inside if I am forced to leave her for a long period of time or am traveling with her.

Help! I’m Potty Training My Papillon Puppy But She Doesn’t Want To Co-operate!?

I have a 8 wk old papillon puppy. I’ve had her 2 weeks. We are having a really hard time potty training her. We also have a 9 yr old papillon boy.
We have the potty pads. But she doesn’t use them. So she wears a diaper when she’s in the house to avoid accidents.
When I know she’s about to go, if I have enough time I put her outside. If I don’t have enough time, I hurry & put her on the potty pad.
We have the routine that when I wake up, I put her outside for at least 10 min. If I see her go, she gets a treat when she comes back in. When I leave for work she goes in her kennel. When I get home I take her back outside. Same as earlier. I try to take her outside alot through out the evening. When she’s not outside she wears a diaper.
If she does go in the house, she gets her nose rubbed in it, then I put her outside.
I was hoping that seeing my boy go outside would help encourage her to go out there, but doesn’t seem to do any good.
None of this has helped. Suggestions?

Potty Training My Papillon Dog?

I have a probably 2-3 year old male papillon. He came to me by accident, he was a stray, he’s a full-breed, beautiful and a wonderful personality. However, I just moved to a new apartment and I can’t get him to stop peeing and pooping on my carpet. I know all of the standard training techniques, like taking him out, giving treats and praise when he does go outside, etc… I just started crating him to see if that would help; however, he is still going in his crate, or ‘bed’. Now, I work 10 hour shifts at night, my only conclusion is that he simply can’t hold it that long… because he doesn’t go any other time of the day when I’m here, meaning he doesn’t have accidents during the night or on my days off when I’m here with him. He only goes in his crate when I leave him…
Does anybody have any suggestions to help me train my boy… I have also tried diapers and pee pads before crating, which didn’t work either. And in my old apartment, he never use to have accidents; however, I don’t remember if I ever had to leave him for 10 hours (I’m with a new company now). And I think because I don’t know his history, or how he was raised it’s making a little more difficult. But he did just fine in my old apartment – I hope somebody can help…
I hope somebody has some suggestions, I am running out of ideas for my guy. . . .
