Starting A Dog Kennel…….?

In the future when I have my own house I will be building a kennel where my border collies, australian shepherds, and papillons will be staying.
1. How much did it cost you to build a kennel?
2. How long did it take?
3. Do you have any pictures?
4. Do you know a site where I can get some ideas or a design?
5. Do you have any suggestions?
Right now I live with my parents and all the dogs live inside. I only breed and show papillons right now, but later i hope to add aussies and BC’s. Do you think it would be a good idea to build three different kennels for each breed? What about a training building or something to hold obedience and conformation classes in?

Should I Kennel Train?

I’m getting a Papillon soon (within a few weeks) and she’ll be a puppy. I’ve heard good and bad things about kennel training. Plus I like having my dog on the bed with me. My last dog loved sleeping on the bed next to me, but it became a bit annoying when he’d take up the whole bed. He was pretty large though; this dog will be about the size of a Chihuahua.
So what should I do? Kennel training gives them security, but I think the bed would give a bit more… closeness, I guess, between me and the dog. But it might be dangerous if the dog falls off (I’ve heard about Paps breaking their legs from falling off beds and I have a very high bed). So what do you suggest? I just think kennels look so sad; I’d probably get over it, though, with some convincing.

Kennel Vs. Potty Training?

My fiance and I just bought a 10wk old Papillon named Achilles.
He’s doing pretty well on kennel training (minus the fact he whines constantly at 8am… not a prob ’cause he’s a puppy)
but how can I get him to stop whining? Or am I just going to have to deal with it till he gets used to staying in his kennel till 8:30 lol.
He is also kind of confused on the puppy pad training.
He’ll poop and pee on the puppy pad… then the next time he has to go (after I’ve already changed the pad obviously) he’ll poop or pee some where in the house…
How can I get him to constantly go on the pad? And yes we do reward him every time he goes on the pad. We alternate between praise and a treat.

How Do I House Train Or Kennel Train My 6 Month Old Papillon?

I just got a 6 month old papillon dog and i need to house or kennel break it, any tips?
