Are House Accidents Common If A Dog Is Going Into Heat?

My almost six month-old pomeranian/papillon puppy, Ginger, had not had an accident in three weeks. I was really excited, and she had done really well with letting me know she was ready to go outside. However, over the past two days, she has had two accidents – literally squatted down and peed RIGHT in front of me as she is looking at me! I have her in training classes and the trainer said that a dog isn’t fully housebroken until they have gone six weeks without an accident.
At any rate, I am scheduled to spay her in two and a half weeks, but I’m paranoid she may go into heat before that. I’ve tried checking for vaginal swelling, but she has a lot of long hair down there, and I’m not sure if I’d know the difference since it’s always been covered up. She’s also curling her tail all the way up when she walks around, but she always kind of prances when she trots. :)
I’m so scared she is going to go into heat before her scheduled spay, and I do NOT want the un-neutered german shepherd a few doors down knocking her up!
Has anyone else’s dog had peeing accidents before it went into heat? I realize this might just be her being a puppy and not 100% trained yet.

I Have A 4yr Old Papillon Who Is Going Backwards On The Housebreaking!?

She was a very good breeder’s brood-a show dog, and she must have been kenneled with other dogs. We were doing well and now, not so much. She comes in from outside and pees in her crate….lies in her bed all stinky and all. If I make her crate smaller, like the kennel version, I worry about elevating her anxiety which she seems to have as well regarding the crate. Now that she’s peed in her big crate, I fear I’ve made it okay for her to do now. She has this love/hate thing going on with the crate. Is there ANY hope she can be trained? Now, when I take her out (which we are doing hourly) she looks at me as if to say, “yeah? So…. a… what do you want to do now?” I’m wondering if
this is really a kidney problem. She can go all night, not pee at all in the morning.. like 10 hours. I’m stumped. This stinks. Literally!~

I Am Going To Start Crate Training My New Puppy…?

I want to crate train my puppy so I can get him to not eliminate in the house. I know I need to crate him while I am at work, or if I leave the house, but shoud he go in the crate at night time? He has been waking me up at night when he as to go… is this a good sign, or should I still crate him?
What should I do about food and water, I read that he should only be fed 4 times daily, and after 6 months, 3 times.
Also how often should he go outside… 3-4 times daily?
He is a 10 week old, Papillon. Please help.. any advice on how to begin and follow through with this training would be a huge help.

Is A Papillon Capable Of Going Hiking?

I am looking for a small dog that I can train to stay with me on hikes, I know a couple of people who recently got papillons and they sound like really great dogs. If you have a papillon or know a lot about them do they have a decent amount of endurance? Are they capable of being trained to walk of lead or do they have a high prey drive? Any info or input on this breed would be helpful thanks!
