Why Is My Dog Suddenly Acting Aggressive?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
I live with my boyfriend and we have a 1yr old Papillon male. He is extremely friendly with all people and animals he encounters. He has had a few instances where he has shown aggression when trying to take food from him but this hasnt happened since he was a lot younger. In the last month or so he has snarled at my boyfriend twice and tried to bite him. Both of these times have been when the dog is sitting or laying right next to me and my boyfriend is trying to pick him up. It seems to me that he is being possessive of me and is trying to bite so that he is not taken from me, even just to go on a walk. Any other time the dog will run up to my boyfriend and greet him enthusiastically and he clearly cares for him a great deal, but I am concerned by this sudden change in his behavior. Our dog is crate trained and we have a young kitten as well that he treats like a loved brother. Overnight the dog sleeps in his crate and during the day he is left out around the house. He has never had professional training but knows “sit, stay, get down, lay down, get the ball, and drop it”.
My 4 Month Old Papillon Is Being Aggressive At My Dad And Just Tried To Bite Him. Help?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
My 4 month old male papillon loves everyone and covers them with kisses. Except my dad. My dad loves animals and it bothers him that the puppy hates him. He tried giving him treats and toys but it hasn’t helped. It started with just barking and growling while hiding behind me, but now he tried to bite him. I have been strict and tell him no over and over when he barks and growls but it has not worked. Help please!!! how should I handle this and train my puppy so he is not aggressive?
Can Someone Help With An Aggressive Dog?

Can someone please help? I have a small papillon and when you throw a toy, he picks up the toy and brings it back to you, if you pick him up while he’s playing with the toy he throws a fit and growls like crazy, he bares his teeth as well. He doesn’t listen when you firmly tell him no. Also when you pick him up he growls a bit as well.
He’s nine months old and likes biting as well. Has anyone got any other methods of training him? Does the mist bottle work?
I also don’t want to punish him too much if it’s just a phase.
Training An Aggressive, Stubborn, Toy Breed Puppy?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
Abby is a miniature dachshund and papillon mix. She is five months old and weighs just a little over four pounds. She has been in our family since she was 8 weeks old.
At first I put off training with her because when I contacted trainers I was told she was too young and it was best just to develop a relationship at this age.
Three months have flown by and now she’s a terror in our household. She is aggressive; biting hands and feet (even faces!), barking and growling at other dogs, gnawing through wooden furniture she’s even chewed a hole through the carpet! She has a basket full of toys and is never left unsupervised.
My family keeps offering advice(the “rub her nose in it” style) but I’ve been trying really hard to work with her using gentle training methods but nothing seems to be working!
How can I help Abby become the sweet sociable dog I know she can be?
Thankyou!
