Should I Get My Pup Fixed?

I have a 6 mo. old papillon puppy. He is not around other dogs much, but he has started marking lately. He is AKC registrered, could I sire him out to other papillon owners? I just got him potty trained, and don’t want him to get in the habit of marking.

Yes, get him neutered.
Just because he is AKC registered does not mean you could or should breed him. The people who should breed are people who do it to improve the breed, which requires many hours spent in the conformation ring to get his championship, money spent on OFA and CERF certifications and other health tests, and lots of research on canine genetics. Breeding is not something to do on a whim or that should be done just because your dog is AKC registered.
First off, AKC papers don’t mean much unless you are competing in a show ring. If you have no intention to breed him or you know that he is not up to breed standards then. yes Most deffinantly get him fixed. If you are in doubt about the standards look them up.
I have only had 1 AKC registered dog (a Doberman ) but she had so many faults that would disqualify her from any showing ring. I was able to show her abilities in Police Dog Trials, she did very good. But, not a breeder. Very poor quality.
Yes! Get him neutered – it will save you aggression problems and the marking.

Unless you know for sure that your dog is of the very best bloodlines and should be standing stud for his breed, get him neutered. It sounds like you aren’t sure, so I would get him neutered.
Neuter him. If you are not a professional breeder with years of experience there is no reason on this Earth not to neuter. Neutering can cut a dogs chance of getting prostate cancer by 80%. Not to mention the other benefis neutering provides.
That question can only be answered by yourself. Me personally, I would fix him, there are lots of dogs in the world that are being destroyed because people want ‘designer’ dogs. Yes, it will help with the marking after he is fixed.
he should be neutered unless he is a show dog, that is simple and final in my opniion , plus the marking might not stop if he is neutered, siring him out just becasue he is akc registered is ludicrous, and helps keep puppymills in business and shelteres full of homeless dogs

Well if you dont want him to get in the habit of marking he needs to be neutered STAT! Benefits or neutering: reduces prostrate problems and diminished his potential of getting prostrate cancer.
Once a stud breeds, he will always feel a need to be territorial and mark. This is why alot of breeder dogs are kept outside in pens.
There are so many dogs out there that don’t have a home so I hate telling anyone that they should breed. If you get your pup fixed it should help with the marking problem.
Thousands of dogs and cats are put down every year. Your dog may not be around other dogs but you know the call of nature..Your dog will be healthier also and live a longer life..

there are so many benefits for your dog. One of them includes a reduced chance of getting cancer or the reproductive organs (obviously).
Get him neutered!! There are too many animals in this world that will never find a good home. And the chances of your puppies finding a good FOREVER home are not that great.
