The best way to train your pup will be to use a crate, however if you're planning on being away more than 4 hours during the day someone will have to let it out while you're at school. If a family member / friend/ hired help isn't available to let him out to pee then it's really not a good idea.
An alternative would be to keep your puppy in a confined area such as a kitchen or bathroom closed off with baby gates and fill the area with newspapers, however this can be detrimental to their training and development if done daily for an extended period of time. You will be getting your puppy at a very critical age for training and he really should be socialized as much as possible during the 12-14 week range.
Good luck!

Go for it! You will always remember your dog as a pup. And it is a wonderful experience watching it grow up. You also develop a deeper bond if you have a dog from when its a puppy.

You said over and over again you couldn't do it. I think you answered your own question.
Maybe help the owners find a good home for the pup and continue to prepare for a rescue older dog.

take it because puppies bring much joy to homes. save up some money to put it in a day care until u can pick it up. Dogs at a young age r quick learners but start with treats. teach it that when it does its Business where it's supposed to that it will get rewarded. try that and if it doesn't work then try having a pro help u out.

HEY!!!! :)
alrighty so i completely understand your problem and it is a BIG decision but i am confident that you will be able to take care of the little cutie!
when i got my puppy, i had to go to school and my parents went to work. what we did was in our "breakfast area" you know like the mini dining room by the kitchen? well we put up a little wooden like wall thing that could be moved whenever and we put my puppy, snowflake, in there while we were gone. it had his toys, bed, crate (with pillow), food and water,a nd PUPPY PADS!!!! haha.
my puppy learned quickly by himself to do his business on the puppy pads. and when he got older, we stopped putting him in the enclosed area and he still just went on the puppy pad till we got home!
and OH MY GOSH!!! little puppies are the best! if you have a bad day at school or work, you come back to the wagging tail and playful spirit and your whole day is happy again! they are truly mans best friend! and if you raise the puppy from a really young age, they will trust you easily and be very very loving!
you will definitely be able to take care of it and house train him/her!!!!!
i say....YES!!! BECOME A NEW MOMMY to that baby!!!!!
good luck!!!
and look on the bright side...you will be saving a puppy! if he/she is sent to the shelter, there is always the chance that he wont be adopted and will be put down :(
do it!!! you will do great!!
:):)and.... papillons are really really cute!!!
