Puppy With A Rash?

I have a female papillon, coming up on 4months old. For I guess the last week or so she’s has a red, flakey rash on the lower part of her stumoch just before her vulva. I mentioned it when at the vet getting her final vaccines *i think* and she took a look, commented that her vulva was large for such a small dog, and didn’t seem too concerned. I put it out of my mind while we got to discussing house training and never really got the chance to bring it back up. I’m just sort of wondering what it might be and if there’s anything I could do for her, because she deffinantly appears to be itchy *you know, licking and chewing lightly on the area*
Like I said, we’ve been to the vet, who didn’t seem too concerned. I’d just like to know.

You may want to call your vet and let him know the rash is starting to bother your dog. It could be an infection or an allergic reaction. In the meanwhile try keeping the area clean and dry.
Keep an eye on it and if it gets worse she may need to go back.
I’m thinking it may be an allergy related to something she sits or lays on, to grass, or perhaps to something she eats. Have you recently shampooed your carpet? She’s a little dog so as she runs through the grass, it will rub her belly, so if she’s allergic to anything in the grass, that could irritate her belly.
Regarding her larger-than-normal vulva, that can be a result of breeding, but some suspect it may be related to hormones in the animals we feed them.
check with your vet…but the rash can possibly be the start of mange…..or a allergic reaction to food…grass…ect…large vulva…some dogs mature faster than others…possibly coming into heat…good luck…
