Kennel Vs. Potty Training?

My fiance and I just bought a 10wk old Papillon named Achilles.
He’s doing pretty well on kennel training (minus the fact he whines constantly at 8am… not a prob ’cause he’s a puppy)
but how can I get him to stop whining? Or am I just going to have to deal with it till he gets used to staying in his kennel till 8:30 lol.
He is also kind of confused on the puppy pad training.
He’ll poop and pee on the puppy pad… then the next time he has to go (after I’ve already changed the pad obviously) he’ll poop or pee some where in the house…
How can I get him to constantly go on the pad? And yes we do reward him every time he goes on the pad. We alternate between praise and a treat.

for the kennel – yes, you have to deal with it. DO NOT ever give him attention (positive or negative) while he is in the kennel whinning, otherwise he will associate the whine with attention, and you coming to the kennel. he will get it eventually, i promise. another thing you can do to help, is wait until he is quiet or stops (hide so he can’t see you), and then use the same term like “good boy quiet” and give him a treat. if he starts up again simply get up and walk away until he stops again and then you can go back. as for the potty training – do not let him run around a large area until he is comfortable using the bathroom where you want him to go (either outside or a puppy pad.) use puupy gates and give him a small area to run around in that is large enough to put a puppy pad in and has room to play, but not too big. you do this so he will train faster. if the area is too big, it will only cinfuse him on where he supposed to go. keep praising him when he goes on the pad. because the space is smaller, the likely hood of him going on the pad is greater than being able to go whenever and whereever he needs to. i hope this helped – i have raised 9 dogs in the span of 18 years and these things worked for me, hopefully they will help you!
I never had problems with dogs whining because I’ve always gotten 2 pups from the same litter
