I’d get a large size cage/crate if you want them in there in your apartment. But if you are going to have them in a car make sure the mom and pups are in sep boxes. thats what i did with my Lab pup and my older dog.

Make sure the crate is big enough for them to turn around comfortably and stand up without hitting the top.

well, you said you have pups too, yet , if it were to be one dog the crate should be aproxiamatly, the size of the dog on all four sides of the crate allowing it to move around and such, therefore leaving you to add a bit more space for the pups depending on the amount.This would be a crate for them to sleep in, right? if not, then im afraid thats a different story.whether this answer helps or not, i hope that its resolved soon. You really don’t want the crate to big, they need just enough room to be able to stand and lay down comfortably. I don’t mean to cram them together but if they have to much room then they will use that extra room to do their dirty dozen so to speak. They also feel very secure in the crate.

Get two cages so that the pups can go in one and the mother can go in the other and you might want to get the dogs checked out and make a found sign or look for signs for missing dogs and if you have those dogs return them immediately. Or if no contact you might want to contact your owners of the apartment complex to see if they can help you in any way.

You can get a large crate at Wal Mart or KMart for faily cheep that will most likely house them all comfortably and take up minimal room in your apartment.
Crating the dogs will keep them out of danger and your apartment from being demolished!

You don’t mention how old the puppies are. Are they still nursing? If they are nursing, you’ll probably want to crate them together, if not, I’d do the puppies in one crate and the mom in a different one. You don’t want them to get to crowded and smash each other. Without seeing the mom, I’m guessing a medium sized crate would be big enough. You can always take the dogs to petsmart with you and test out a few sizes. Good luck
