It is done all the time at shelters for population control. And they do spays as part of C-sections all the time. I agree with spaying her and all the puppies before getting them into new homes. Or having the shelter do it. Too many "accidents" and mistakes have already happened here - time to stop the chain of events. Emergency spays can be done right up to before delivery. And when in doubt call around to other vets to find whose willing to do it. At least then you won't have to worry about someone not following through on the contract.
