If I Adopt A Older Papillon, What Will I Need For It/ Need To Do?

It says that she is potty trained, but I do not have a doggy door. Would it be hard to retrain her to stand at the door?
I heard you have to brush their teeth. Do you buy a regular tooth brush, and what do you brush them with?
Anything else I would need to do/ need to buy?
I already have another dog, so I have food/ water dishes, etc.http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/display…

I think the potty training would be easy. One of mine was originally pee pad trained and it wasn’t too hard to teach her to go outside. She did have a couple accidents on rugs though. (I guess they look like pee pads!)
I tried the teeth brushing but I just give bullysticks and things. They do need dental cleanings frequently. All small dogs are prone to tartar and dental problems.
Good luck! Papillons are great dogs and loads of fun! She is gorgeous, btw.

I tie a dinner bell to the door and ring it before I open the door. Do not use a jingle bell as the toe could get caught. They learn to ring the bell when they need to go potty. They have doggie tooth paste, and tooth brushes. I also use commands like “go out” for pee, and “go finish” for poop, you might try that.

They have tooth brushes at the petstore and toothpaste for dogs. Ive adopted older dogs (im talking over 8 years old) and just get what you normally need for a dog (food, bowls, leash, collar, brush etc..) You don’t need anything special unless this dog has a medical condition. That dog looks part chihuahua along with papillion. Very cute for a small dog.

I don’t brush my dog’s teeth myself. I do get his teeth cleaned when he gets a checkup. He is 10 years old and he gets 3/4 of a cup of California Natural chicken and rice formula 4 times a week. Three times a week he gets raw beef ribs which are good for dental health. He gets a tablet of glucosamine crushed up and sprinkled over food once a week.
