He’ll always shed, but to minimize shedding, brush him regularly and give him a nutritional supplement with essential fatty acids… ask for it at the pet store and they’ll be able to recommend a good one.
Crate training is a good idea for his housebreaking. You also need to make sure you keep a close eye on him at all times when he’s in the house so you can stop him if he tries to have an accident.
There’s a website that has detailed housebreaking instructions that you should check out. Here’s an article from that site about a method you should use in the first few days of training with a small dog to prevent him from having accidents:http://thehousebreakingbible.com/trainin…
lol, he sheds, get used to it. i would suggest having some lint/hair rollers around the house. i wouldn’t let him on the furniture, or your bed. i would put him on a schedule to eat 3 times a day. give him about 15 min to eat and then put the bowl up. about 20-30 min after he eats take him outside to go potty. Tell him your going potty. I usually say or kinda ask “potty?” or “outside?” and kinda get excited about it. so he does. put the leash on and take him outside. walk around a bit, don’t just stand there. i would stay out for about 10-15 min if you can and when he goes, give him a treat and get excited for him! after that take him out every hour. Make sure you watch him though when your inside, watch for things that he does before he squats to go potty, that way you can stop it before it starts. good luck. if you have any more questions you can email me at decbaby8303@yahoo.com
Paps shed so you need to brush him alot. Housetrain him as if he was a young pup. Crate him then take him out on leash for 15-20 mins and walk him, if he potties reward with a yummy treat and bring him inside and watch him. If he doesn’t go crate him for 30 mins then try again. Dogs sleep alot, mine sleep an 8 hour bedtime plus doze all day. There are dozens if not hundreds of site about housebreaking plus many books.
If you go to Petco there should be stuff there that comes in a bottle that you spray where he has been doing his business and he will stop and then you should leave him outside for a bit to get a feel of things.
And I’m sure if hes six years old he’ll be fine.
Get a sticky roll brush for the hair problem.
Every now and then, take him outside onto glass or wherever it is you want him to pee and see if he will. Thats how my dog learnt. It takes time patients and alot of cleaning up shiit. lol
not to be mean, but you needed to ask this question long before you got the dog….if this is your first dog, and you have not attended any classes, or read any books, you really have no business having a dog.
Your questions tell me that you know nothing about dogs or dog training. I find this offensive, a dog is not a toy, you should know exactly what your doing before you impose your will (perhaps wrongly) on a poor little puppy.
