How To Start Training A Pomeranian/ Papillon 7 Wk Old Puppy?

I’ve had her for one week and I’m using a dog crate. The other day she just started growling and chewing on things that are no no’s. Spending a lot of time just getting her used to the crate. She whines a lot, but doesn’t bark that much. She only weighs 2lbs 3oz.

When she chews something that isn’t hers, quickly replace it with something that is hers. Make sure she has plenty of toys that are appropriate to chew on.

I’m confused; what exactly are you using the dog crate for? It’s too high to be used as a litter tray, you need a large tray, that’s low and easy for puppy to get in and out of. You put newspaper down, put the pup in after every meal, and when it wakes, and praise it when it goes. You need to give the pup it’s own, safe chewable toys, and put your stuff up out of its reach. I hope you are not keeping the pup in the crate, are you? They need to run and play in a large area. 7 weeks is way too young for any more than toilet training.

I assume you mean pottie training. I use a board 18″ high to block off an area in my kitchen and lay newspaper everywhere. When the pup piddles on the paper I remove it and put down a clean one, praising the pup generously. Every 2 days remove one of the papers, until you are down to one paper, in the area you want it. The pup will be paper trained. If you take the pup outdoors and it piddles praise it each time.
