How To House Train You’re Puppy.?

We have a 9 month old girl Papillon. She is the sweetest thing, but she still isn’t potty trained. Its not like the whole house smells of puppy potty, but it can be a problem. Help! Thanks!

Papillons, like most toy dogs a notoriously known for being difficult to house train. I usually suggest litter training. Toy dogs tend to view the house as their “yard”. If you create a special place for her to use as her potty, she should catch on very quickly. After all she is a Papillon.
Any house training works best when there is somebody home with the puppy during the day. Make sure you take her to her potty spot every hour or if you notice her looking as though she is ready to potty. Praise her and give her a treat when she potties.
Definitely confine her to a crate, the laundry room, or kitchen when nobody is home.
Get her pad trained, that will lead to house breaking.
Get pads and place them where she usually is at, and buy a house breaking spray at Wal Mart ( usually under 2 dollars) and spray on pad. Everytime you see her sniffing take her on the pad or outside. You can even spray it outside, once she smells the spray she’ll poop/pee there!
Keep in mind that dogs need to potty…
1) After they eat
2) After they sleep
3) After they play
Take her out to a special spot and have a command like “go potty”. This is potty time, don’t turn it into anything else, even though she’s cute it isn’t play time or walk time – it’s potty time. Keep taking her out every 5-10 minutes for potty time til she potties. Then clap your hands, smile, tell her she’s a good girl, reward her with a treat. It will only take a few days til she learns.
When you wake in in the morning you should take her out, first thing! Then watch he periodically and take her out every 2 hour or so. Also when you take her out, make sure you let her know “Outside time!”
