How Do I Help My Lonely Dog?

I used to live at my mom’s house and I have a male papillon and she has a female jack russel terrior. After living together side by side for a year, our dogs were attatched at the hip they did everything together. I moved out and I took my papillon with me. Now he cries all the time and doesn’t like to go to the bathroom. I am in an apartment so I can’t get another dog. My mom won’t let my papillon stay with her and I need my papillon to stop going potty in the house while I am away!
Questions:
How come my papillon used to be potty trained but now refuses to go outside and waits till I’m gone, then goes all over my apartment?
How do I train my papillon to not be lonely and to not need my mom’s jack russel?
Is it a good idea to let my boyfriend’s parents have him so he can play with their two saint bernards or is that dangerous for such a small puppy?

The two became bonded and you should not separate them now, it’s not fair to the dogs. You will not like this answer but you need to get the dog back to your moms house.

Take it away!, dog’s dont take it personal they live in the present. As for your papillon put him in a crate then take him to empty when you come back.As for the St bernard theres no need to worry, even if they had a little scrap. However if the st bernard turns into a red agressive state you should seperate them but i don’t think that will be the case.

Try giving your dog more toys or get a dog walker so they can keep each other compnay and play together plus there will be someone to walk your dog so he can do his business outside.

You should take your dog on walks or take it to a dog park or a normal park. Q1:It’s probably trying to get you to take it back to your mom’s house. Q2: well you could buy it some dog toys, dog treats, or even a stuffed animal that looks like a dog. Q3: you should consider that option and it’s safe because dogs aren’t usually violent unless something triggers it’s wild instincts.

I think your dog is too big for the other dogs. Do you take your dog to visit the JR? Did you explain to your dog that he was moving out? Talk to your dog he understands more than you think. He is very lonely. Leave the tv on or the radio I know he wants the JR but this may help. Crate him but put him in front of the TV. As soon as you get home take him out and spend alot of time with him quality time. Talk to him all the time. If he visits the JR tell him he will see his buddy again soon. And take him to visit as much as you can. But he needs more time with you. and more time out side with you.
