I just got a puppy papillon a day ago and i desided to litter box train it because i heard it pays off in the long run, i’ve been watching her constantly, i have her gated off in my kitchen so she can not get anywhere else unless i let her out. she has her littler box in there along with newspapers, when i catch her in the action of going i pick her up and set her in there, but i have to hold her, she will not pee in there though, by the time i pick her up she is done, she is only 3 months old. any help? thanks

I just got a malti-pom puppy for x-mas.He is 12 weeks.I had him litter box trained in 4 days! What I did was just confine Oiver to the living room so I could watch him every second!! (I just use newspaper in his box.) When he would start to go I hurried and put him in his box.If he went on the carpet I simply said no and put him in his box.Basically,I spent 4 days with him and watching him every second.I know it sounds like a lot of work, but it was worth it! He uses it everytime now.I was shocked myself at how quick it happened. That’s how I did it.Good luck!
The best way that worked for me is to make one area a potty area. Do not lay out newspaper or pee pads all over the place. I did that with my first pup and it took her longer then the second pup. It is going to take some time but give her a treat every time she uses her potty area. Eventually she will get the idea. If she does uses other areas in the house as her bathroom just make sure you catch her in the act and nice and loudly say ah. That will suprise her and make her stop going. Then take her to her potty area. It will take some time and patience but pays off in the long run. Also since she is so young only give her a small space to run around free in and when she can start to be trusted give her a little more space at a time. Do not punish her in any way. It will only make things worse. Good luck,
