I have the same problem. I've learned to take her out before I close the door for night time. And if I get up in the night I take her out again. When she goes out side and potties I give her a treat! But if she goes potty inside I put her in a box where she has no toys and I leave her there for one hour. Once I take her out I take her outside. And say you potty outside . Once she does I again give her a treat and allow her to be with me. It works and it's not cruel.

How about a doggy door? It sounds like she knows where she is supposed to go, but maybe she can't even hold it for a few seconds.

If you can't sort her out being an expert, I don't think anyone else will give you much good advice. Just be firm, and don't feel so sorry for it. Don't let the puppy dog eyes fool you.

My suggestion would be to restart house-training her as if she'd never gone through it before and use a crate (it's an invaluable tool, particularly with house training). If she relieves herself in the house while out of the crate then, just as you would when house-training, correct her accordingly (give a firm "no" if she's caught or, if it's a short time after she relieved herself, take her to the spot and give her a firm not before putting her outside and then cleaning the spot). At 8 months she is more than old enough to understand house training and be able to hold long enough to be let out, the fact that she's regressed and the regression seems to have been consistent means your best bet is to start house-training all over again.
