The pads were bad for me. Made my dog prefer carpet, so every now and then she would make a break for upstairs to go pee. I'd recommend house training her to go outside. When she goes in the house take it outside and put it in the grass and let her smell it (dont push her nose in it though)... and when you walk her and she goes in the grass you have to get really excited and give her treats. If you have her on a schedual (which is reccomended) you'll see a pattern in when she has to poop or pee. They love the excitement and once she realizes its every time she goes where she is supposed to she will be motivated to do it more ofter. My pup realized it and then began to squat and fake pee so she could get praise (so cute lol)
good luck.
